Great training app

I am coming off another app that helped me train for my first 5 km. What I liked about that app was that it had built in walk-run timing; this app doesnt. However it does tell you when youve hit the halfway point of your runs or when youre changing tempo. It also has 3 different trainers, but they dont talk as much as other apps. I do like that this app is connected with many runs in your area - I registered for my 10 km run and it downloaded to my app. Id recommend this app for those who already have a pretty good base and are just looking for a little structure.

Run my first 10k using this app and shortly moved on to my first half marathon. Great app!

Amazing running app!

I started running earlier this year with a 5k app, and after a few months at that distance, I decided I was ready for 10k. This app has helped so much. Unlike other apps, its workouts are designed to very gradually increase your distance and pace by using two short runs and one long run each week. It even includes recovery weeks! More so than other apps Ive used, this is like having your own personal running coach. I love it!

I was happy with the Couch to 5k app so decided to get this one since Im ready to move to a 10k. Same functionality with some upgrades. The buddy feature is nice but would be nice if we could cheer them on or comment on their activity.

Great app!

The c25k app got me off the couch, and Im continuing the journey with this app. Both are well made, intuitive, and they work. But even better, the program works!!

Good training schedule but I cant hear commands or half way points and it has cut off last 2 times when I locked the screen.

This app has made me a much better runner! I love that I dont have to think about how long to run each day. The workouts are perfect, as they steadily increase.

Great App, Couple Glitches

The training program is extremely solid. The gradual build up and variety can turn any non-runner into a runner. I spent my whole life playing team sports and swimming and always, always hated running just for runnings sake. Now that I work absurd hours every week and dont have a university gym or team sports conveniently available to me, running is the only affordable way to keep myself in shape. This program has helped me learn to set goals and enjoy working towards them. As for the app itself- there are a few bugs/poor design choices. You have to lock the phone WITHIN the app (lock icon in top left) in order to continue to receive the voice commands over the music and see the timer. Even then, sometimes the voice doesnt come through for some reason. If you just leave the app up and allow the phone to lock itself, youll only receive text notifications of the intervals (so unless youve set your phone in front of you on a treadmill, you wont know whats going on.) It took me a few runs to figure this out- it wasnt clearly stated anywhere in the app. Also, the app allows you to enter your distance and calculates your pace for you, but it includes your warm up and cool down in the calculation! So even if you ran a 8 min/mile during the actual run, your 15 min/mile warm up and cool down will skew the apps calculation and your pace within the app will be recorded as something like 10:40 min/mile. Theres no way to edit this as far as I can tell, so even though you can still compare one "pace" to another in the app, they arent actually reflecting your real run pace. Ive taken to calculating my pace using the treadmill stats and just writing them down separate from the app. If I remember to check the distance at the start and end of my run… Boo.

Im not a "runner", but...

this app makes me feel like one. After completing C25K, Im working through this program. The expectations are challenging yet reasonable and are helping me achieve my personal fitness goals.

Good, but missing a few features couch to 5k has

I am definitely a fan of this app, but would like to see a couple of the features C25K has such as the option to give a buddy comments and or a high five and my app isnt keeping track of specific dates. I am about halfway through this program and havent struggled, but definitely feel progress. It it a fantastic plan and I am very grateful I downloaded it.

Wish I could edit distance

I started with the Couch to 5K. Apps turned me into a runner. All was well when I ran outdoors. Now that I run on the treadmill, the app cannot measure my distance. It offers the ability to edit the distance but it does not work! I keep getting an error. Please allow the app to connect to the server so those of us using the treadmill can keep track of our runs.

Great app

Love this app. Its very helpful for a novice runner. Wish there was a way to set it up for a track or treadmill, though, and would like more information on how to cross train as part of the prep for a 10K.

Great and motivational

I started using this app after my first 5k and I love it. I am almost done but I can already tell my stamina and time has improved. Cant wait for my first 10k.
